Professor Byung Hee Hong’s research for his historic achievements in Graphene
Seoul National University’s 2015 brochure acknowledged Professor Byung Hee Hong’s (SNU - Chemistry) research for his historic achievements in Graphene. The large scale graphene synthesis towards commercial applications, techniques and related patent applications were initiated by Prof. Hong since Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and later transferred to Graphene Square Inc.
With the basis of such sound foundation, Graphene Square has been distributing globally, research (batch) based CVD graphene synthesis equipment and graphene transferred material (substrates) while continually accumulating and developing technological know-how and capability within the graphene industry.
Therefore, Graphene Square can proudly claim being #1 in the graphene film material category.

Professor HONG Byung Hee (faculty member 2011-present, Chemistry) holds the patent for mass-producing graphene-based displays, which is the key technology to produce cost-efficient large-scale graphene panels.
